A big thanks to the participants of the workshop on Authentic Female Leadership for your insightful discussions, personal anecdotes and good energy!
Female leaders from a wide range of sectors (hospitality, banking, NGOs, manufacturing etc.) came together, diving into questions like:
- To have the desired impact, how do you strike the balance, being authentic while tailoring your style to the situation?
- What’s your journey in strengthening your – authentic – leadership approach, deepening your awareness of self and others?
- While dealing with stigma and societal expectations, how do you manage challenges like handling derogative behaviour and building trust in competitive environments?
Last, but not least, we arrived at the conclusion that we need to network and collaborate more actively not to miss out…
- After working hours, given family commitments, we tend to go home whereas many male counterparts tend to network more often. Also, in general, male professionals bond very easily. With female professionals, this is not always the case. Even during events like conferences, we don’t always exchange contacts. (Hence, even more wonderful to see, that this workshop brought about new connections and an exchange of business cards!)
- We can support each other establishing trust in the capabilities of a (new) female leader.
- When sharing more on the challenges we face in our roles, we can learn from and inspire each other.
As Taya-Lumen, we were excited to facilitate this event. We are looking forward to bring further initiatives around connecting and supporting female leadership. If you are interested, kindly DM us.
